A partial collage is layered over the sides and back, in neutral tones. It is entirely
composed of musical notation, numbers, and text in various languages and
degree of antiquity from vintage books -- French, German, High German, Latin
manuscript and English dictionary entries.  The words defined are "dream,"
"thought," "honest" and "honesty".

Drawer - open
This shows the scale of the mini-drawer - 2" long (closed) and 1 1/4" wide.  It's interior is white
and the outside is covered in handmade blue paper stamped with leaves in silver.  The pull is
made of a glass and a silver bead.  The fixed metal tag inside is engraved "imagine".  (sorry, I
don't have a macro lens or this would be clearer).

Custom Shrine - ready to complete - Blue
Front
Here is the front of the shrine, full of fun possibilities.  Either your or I can complete it to your
specifications. The doors are fixed in an open position.  The three-dimensional objects are
not fixed in place, and only the drawer is necessarily a part of the assemblage.  More drawers
can be made if you desire, to be placed where you want on the shrine.  I have used acrylic
paint, glazes, rubber stamps, ink, patterned paper, silver leaf and glass beads. The center
shelf, with its watch and compass in a partial collage, suggest time and direction to me.

The base piece measures 7 1/2" tall and 8" wide from edge to edge of open doors.

Base
The base is partially collaged with layers of text and a technical diagram.  For some reason, I
was thinking of this as a gift for someone very left-brain oriented, with an interest in languages,
technical matters, mathematics or science when I chose the collage material, and the colors
work well together.  However, the wonderful thing about collage or any altered art is that
elements can easily be covered with new material or paint to change the theme.
